Any idea what causes this?
Ive been having this for a while now and its getting progressively worse.
It happeneds everywhere....and its very annoying, try pvping like that!
Anyone experienced this before?
AMD Athlon 64 x2
2 gig ram
Radeon x1900 Vid card
Thoughts?
More screens available, but they are roughly the same.
Thanks in advance,
-Tiki

Oh, geometry shader errors. Those are ALWAYS "fun".
Go through the standard steps first.
Uninstall and reinstall the newest graphics drivers from AMD/ATi.
Check your card temperatures using the Catalyst Control Center. Please post them here for me to see.
Give a bit more info about your PC, such as motherboard manufacturer and model, graphics card manufacturer and exact model, RAM manufacturer, speed, and type, etc. The more info, the better.
Once we have these tidbits of info, we can take this to level 2 diagnosis. As of right now, you don't want to hear my thoughts (you will cry)
If you are having issues getting any of this info, you can use this program to get it. This is a 30 day trial of the software. It will suffice for the needed info and also diagnosing issues.
http://www.lavalys.com/products/down...&frm=0&lang=en
Just fill in the needed info and make sure you don't subscribe to the newsletter unless you actually want it.
Download and install. Get the info, and post the specifics here like I said above. Update you after that.

I played my first 3 months like, that and i didnt care much about it lol.
But when the factions pre release came, it just dissapeared.
I still kept my comp for a long while, but my GFX card died like a year ago now.

61C idling temp? is that the CPU or graphics card? either way, it sounds a little high. i don't know much about the X1000 series, but i'm pretty sure it shouldn't idle that high.

Ok...I hit 200 F and it hard crashed on me....I think I can pretty much diagnose this as a vid card failure.....
I need suggestions on a new quality card that wont get over heated this badly lol....I dont want to spend a fortune, just something thats nice and compatible with my fairly crap mobo. Just want to run gw is all for now, I will upgrade when gw2 hits the stores in the next...3 years
Any suggestions? Around the 130-150 price range.

I was thinking something like that.

a quick search told me that the X1900GT goes up to 85C at full load. either way, 200F (is that 90C+ ?) is very high. that's the operating temperature of a geforce 8800GTX.
the cheapest 8800GT i can find is this one:

whether you go with cheaper versions is up to you.

the 8800gt is a great card. i run 2 in sli. if your mobo has a pci-e slot then yes. the only other suggestion i would make is change up manufactuers to evga. They have truly excellent support.

Any other thoughts and ideas? Thanks so much for help.

you've more or less reached the end of the upgrade path with your current setup, i'm afraid. any additional upgrade you make is like burning money.

dont forget arctic silver5 and maybe a bigger power supply, depends on how big/kind you have now. also, I have no opinon on that mobo I have never heard of that company before. If it is junk there is always rma.
ON the 8800gt box the recommended psu is a 500watt.
I use that ram and see this vid card yet? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130318

Yea on the mobo I figure itll be ok.
I love that RAM and am decided on that.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130347
Thats what I originally put in my new cart, how are those cards?
Also my PS is 500w
The main reason for the vid card I posted, was for the cooling system that it comes with
